Do you have a problem with Fat?

Mar 26,2021 | Yvette Rose

Do you know about fat malabsorption?

There are many reasons why your gut may feel bloated. Fat malabsorption is up there on the list. The three primary sex hormones — estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone — are all made from dietary cholesterol, a dietary fat. If your gut has too much inflammation in it, then likely your body is also not digesting healthy fat. There are symptoms that that can be a trigger to this response.

Symptoms

  • Brain fog

  • Bloating after eating

  • Fatigue

  • Difficulty losing weight or unexplained weight-loss

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Issues with memory or attention

  • Dry skin and hair

Poor fat digestion is caused by inflammation in your body, poor gallbladder, or pancreatic function. Fat malabsorption can also be caused by infections, trauma, antibiotics or health conditions like as celiac or Crohn's disease. This in turn will affect your bodies ability to produce healthy hormones.

What to do for healthy fat absorption

  1. Eat healthy fats like: pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, walnuts, avocados, olive oil, cold-pressed oils and fish like salmon, tuna and sardines
  2. You may already be doing this but here it is again, hydrochloric acid which helps your stomach produce acid which helps keep away bad bacteria in your gut.
  3. Probiotics are and have been used to help rebuild the guts microbiota and this also has been shown to help with fat absorption.
